Posted on 10:44 by Anonymous

Meek Mill's Dreamchasers artist, 18-year-old Lil Snupe, was reportedly
found dead.

Lil Snupe signed to Meek Mill's Dreamchasers imprint earlier this
year, and now we have sad news to report about the rising young
rapper.

Lil Snupe, 18 years old (he just had his birthday seven days ago), was
reportedly shot dead, news which has been confirmed by his manager,
Leem7st, on Twitter. Meek Mill also tweeted about Snupe early this
morning, obviously in disbelief. There are very few details available
at the moment, but we'll keep you informed once more news on Snupe's
death surfaces.

HNHH sends out their condolences to Lil Snupe's family, and Meek Mill,
at this time.

Russell Brand cancels Middle East gigs

Posted on 10:43 by Anonymous

Russell Brand has scrapped a number of dates in the Middle East after
being told his safety could not be guaranteed.

He had been booked to perform in Abu Dhabi and Lebanon on his Messiah
Complex world tour.

His routine deals with figures such as Malcolm X, Gandhi and Jesus.

"Those gigs have been banned, pulled because of threats from
extremists that if I went there there would be problems," Brand told
Radio 5live.

"The venue contacted us and said we can no longer guarantee your safety."

Brand told Richard Bacon the nature of the comedy material led to
"fundamentalists" threatening to cause trouble at the venues.

He also believed the promotional poster for the tour might have played
its part in the cancellations.

"The image by the brilliant artist Shepard Fairey depicts me as
looking a little Christ-like....so there's an indication that it might
be offensive," he said.

"If you are in some sort of fundamentalist group and Google my name
and watch a few things on YouTube you might just think 'don't bother
having him here'."

The tour was due to open in Abu Dhabi in August but it will now skip
the Middle East and go to the US, Canada and South Africa as well as
European venues.

Meanwhile, Brand is appearing on the panel of the BBC's political
programme Question Time on Thursday, alongside London Mayor Boris
Johnson and MP Dame Tessa Jowell.

Brazil cities brace for new protests

Brazil cities brace for new protests
Security is being increased in Brazil's biggest cities after
protesters announced they would go ahead with mass demonstrations
planned for Thursday.

Protesters in Sao Paulo said they would take to the streets "to
celebrate" the reversal of a public-transport fare increase announced
on Wednesday.

The protests, which were originally triggered by the increase, have
since grown into a much wider movement.

Demonstrators are angry at corruption and spending on next year's World Cup.

Fenced off
The authorities in the city of Rio de Janeiro have erected barricades
around the state legislature building, which was vandalised during
protests on Monday.

The state governor's office, Guanabara Palace, has also been secured
by a double layer of barricades.

Workers have also fenced off the elevated walkways opposite the
mayor's office and at central underground train stations.

Protesters told the BBC's Julia Carneiro in Rio they would not march
to the city's Maracana stadium, which will be hosting a Confederations
Cup match between Spain and Tahiti at the time.

Her Madgesty Arrives Fashionably Late

Her Madgesty Arrives Fashionably Late

At 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Martha Stewart walked out of the Paris Theater,
where a premiere was taking place of "Madonna: The MDNA Tour," a
concert film to be shown on EPIX.

The reason? Her Madgesty was running an hour late and Ms. Stewart had
an early morning. "I have to do the 'Today' show," Ms. Stewart said.
Oh, well.

Inside, guests fidgeted in their seats. Toward the back was the
actress Debi Mazar, a longtime friend. "She's always been late," Ms.
Mazar said. "Always."

Shortly after 9, Madonna finally made her way to her seat, wearing a
black tuxedo and a top hat inspired by Marlene Dietrich. The lights
went down, and for the next two hours, a crowd that included Jenna
Lyons and Fabien Baron watched as Madonna sang and danced.

After it ended, Madonna took to the stage, thanked those who helped
with the tour, marveled at her good fortune and announced she was
taking questions.

People cheered. "But please," she said, "intelligent, inspired questions only."

One fan asked about the casting process. "I really forced everybody to
go outside of their comfort zones," Madonna said. "Straight boys have
to wear high heels and gay boys have to man up."

Another made the mistake of asking her about staying in shape during
the tour. "I hate this question," she said, adding that she had done
the show every night. Duh!

Twenty minutes later, a crowd that included John Travolta, Zachary
Quinto, Andy Cohen and Madonna's dancer boyfriend, Brahim Zaibat, made
its way to the restaurant Harlow for an after-party that went late.

The dance floor was taken over by male dancers from the tour, who were
instructed by Madonna to take their shirts off.

As they popped and locked to hip-hop, Madonna stood there, holding
their discarded clothes. "I'm the wet-shirt lady," she said, smiling.

Shocker! Department store uses models' actual bodies to advertise lingerie

Shocker! Department store uses models' actual bodies to advertise lingerie

LOS ANGELES – While most advertisers, fashion houses and magazines
still shrink waist lines and suck away pounds with the click of a
mouse, one shop is putting their money where their lingerie is when it
comes to unrealistic retouching in today's tech age.
Popular U.K. department store Debenhams recently announced a ban on
all retouched lingerie model shots, proclaiming that they had a "moral
obligation" to "encourage positive body image."
Many have praised Debenhams for the bold marketing move, but also hope
that their airbrush-free philosophy will extend beyond lingerie shots,
given the impact all types of digitally nipped, tucked, trimmed,
toned, and de-wrinkled images have on women. (A study conducted by
Brown University found that 74.4 percent of the normal-weight women
stated that they thought about their weight or appearance "all the
time" or "frequently.")
"Every day, women are constantly bombarded with advertising messages
that they are not good enough, that there is something wrong with them
or their body," behavior expert Patrick Wanis, PhD, told FOX411 Pop
Tarts column. "The airbrushing of models only succeeds in reminding
women that they will always be lacking and worthless."
The Barbie-fication of women in media can leave a damaging impact on
men as well.
"When men view retouched images of women, they are being fed a female
ideal that simply does not exist," explained John Clark, who works in
the film industry and conducts educational workshops with his wife,
former model Nicole Clark. "Yet these images are all men see in the
media, and eventually generate expectations that cannot be fulfilled."
According to model Monica Hansen, airbrushing has become more common
in recent years. She says a lot of times on a shoot, the photographer
or client will make a comment like "we will fix that in Photoshop
later."
"One of the digital tricks used today is 'liquefying the images.' With
the liquefying tool you can basically create and re-shape anything on
somebody's body and face, like make their nose smaller, legs longer,
lift the breast to a higher position or make thighs and hips slimmer,"
she said. "But since our digital technology is growing and people are
these days so accustomed to it, it would be too difficult to reverse
it now. Hopefully we can raise awareness by educating people to
understand that the images in the media are far from realistic."
She's not the only one pushing for this change. Earlier this month,
H&M was forced to dump photographs of their celebrity model Beyonce
after the singer reportedly complained about her snaps being doctored,
prompting them to use only the more natural ones. Last year,
top-selling teen magazine Seventeen was thrust into some unwanted
limelight after one fourteen-year-old advocate, Julia Bluhm, launched
a petition on Change.org, which attracted almost 86,500 signatures.
She staged a protest outside publisher Hearst Corporation's Manhattan
headquarters, urging Seventeen to print at least one unaltered feature
inside each monthly issue, to which they eventually agreed.
Although it doesn't seem to be gaining much traction in the U.S. yet,
the issue is under increased governmental scrutiny across the pond.
The Liberal Democrats – the UK's third largest party – adopted a
proposal in 2009 for a labeling system that would require a disclaimer
on altered photographs.
Last year, a beauty ad for Christian Dior featuring Natalie Portman
was banned by Britain's Advertising Standards Authority for
"exaggerating" the effect of the product on her lashes. While the
designer label admitted digital enhancement had take place, it argued
that it was a "minimal" amount with regards to augmenting the
thickness and volume of Portman's lashes. The watchdog previously
removed airbrushed beauty ads from L'Oreal led by the A-list likes of
Julia Roberts, Christy Turlington and Penelope Cruz, and a 2009 Olay
advertisement starring 60's supermodel Twiggy was also nixed by the
authority for digitally erasing her wrinkles.
So should the U.S. follow suit? Or is it up to advertisers and media
outlets to exercise their own sense of right and wrong on the issue?
"Until the government steps up and creates rules for retailers and
advertisers, this will go on. Most companies have made it clear they
will not self-regulate," said Nicole Clark, a model represented by top
agency Elite during her 90's heyday. "Back then there wasn't Photoshop
so images were only color corrected at most. Photographers had to be
more skilled in order to create their images."
But others think manipulating photos is as normal as being able to fit
into a designer's size zero dress.
"It has become completely acceptable these days to have images touched
up or airbrushed before being released to the marketplace," said tech
expert and business analyst Ari Zoldan, CEO of Quantum Media Holdings,
LLC. "We are living in an era where nothing is sacred anymore."

Bronx teacher arrested after raping 10-year-old student

Posted on 07:45 by Anonymous
Bronx teacher arrested after raping 10-year-old student, deceiving parents
Anthony Criscuolo, who taught fifth grade at P.S. 386, wrote a note on
school letterhead to the victim's parents, telling them their daughter
had won an essay-writing contest with an accompanying award ceremony
that he would take her to. Instead, he drove the girl to a school
parking lot in Queens and assaulted her in his vehicle, police sources
said.

Teacher Anthony Criscuolo of P.S. 386 in the Bronx was collared
Wednesday after being accused in the rape of a fifth-grader he
showered with gifts, including an iPod Touch.
A scheming Bronx teacher raped a 10-year-old student after he tricked
the girl's family into thinking she was receiving an academic award,
police sources said Wednesday.

"He needs to die," the girl's devastated grandmother told the Daily News.

Twisted Public School 386 teacher Anthony Criscuolo — the hulking
brute accused of the sickening attack on his fifth-grade student —
penned a bogus note to the victim's parents on school letterhead
announcing that their daughter had written an award-winning persuasive
essay, police sources said.
The victim's grandmother didn't hold anything back, saying Anthony
Criscuolo 'needs to die.'

The letter convinced the unsuspecting parents to allow the 40-year-old
predator, who had already given the girl an iPod Touch and let her
wear a diamond ring in his classroom, to take the girl to a sham award
ceremony he claimed was Monday.

But there were no awards, no ceremony, no pomp and no circumstance.
Instead, the pathetic creep drove the victim to a school parking lot
in Queens and raped her inside his silver Dodge Charger, which has
tinted windows that hid the beastly attack, police sources said.

The girl's mother called cops Tuesday after she found a string of
sexually illicit emails sent by Criscuolo, family said. One missive
even said the perv had left his wife to be with the child.

Is Google Glass watching Officials from six nations worry

Privacy concerns surrounding Google Glass show little sign of easing
with news that officials across six nations have contacted the company
in a joint letter which sets down a series of questions they want
answered about the head-based tech.
The letter comes in the same month that Google CEO Larry Page – to
whom the letter is addressed – told shareholders that privacy issues
regarding the device are "not that big a concern," though for
officials in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Israel and
Switzerland, they clearly are.

The Mountain View company's high-tech specs, which are capable of
capturing images and recording video, are currently being tested in
the field by a number of engineers and developers. The device is
expected to get a commercial release some time next year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Most of the data protection authorities [in this letter] have not been
approached by your company.'
- Letter sent to Google's Larry Page
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frustrated
Despite extensive media coverage surrounding the tech, the authorities
behind the letter are clearly frustrated that up to now they have had
no opportunity to engage in any "real dialog" with Google about
privacy concerns with Glass.
"To date, what information we have about Google Glass, how it
operates, how it could be used, and how Google might make use of the
data collected via Glass largely comes from media reports, which
contain a great deal of speculation, as well as Google's own
publicizing of the device," the letter said.
Those represented in the correspondence said that while they are aware
similar devices are being developed by other companies, Google is "a
leader in this area." Despite this, "most of the data protection
authorities [in this letter] have not been approached by your company
to discuss any of these issues in detail."
Questions
The letter listed eight questions it would like answered, including
how Google Glass will comply with data protection laws and how it will
share information collected via Glass. It also asks if Google is doing
anything about "the broader social and ethical issues raised by such a
product, for example, the surreptitious collection of information
about other individuals." The Mountain View company was recently named
as one of the Internet firms which has been sharing user data with the
NSA as part of its PRISM surveillance program.
The final question in the letter may leave some wondering if the
authorities haven't simply got caught up in the buzz surrounding the
specs and would like nothing more than an early hands-on with Glass:
"Would Google be willing to demonstrate the device to our offices and
allow any interested data protection authorities to test it?" it asks.
The letter ended, "We would be very interested in hearing about the
privacy implications of this new product and the steps you are taking
to ensure that, as you move forward with Google Glass, individuals'
privacy rights are respected around the world."
News of today's letter comes a month after a Congressional privacy
group in the U.S. also contacted Larry Page on the same issue.
While up to now Google's usual response has been along the lines of
hey, this is new tech we've got here, we don't even know how it's
going to turn out so let's see where it goes, it may well be time for
Larry to take a set of his AR specs along to some meetings with
concerned parties, together with some soothing words to allay privacy
fears.
